In the period from 7 till 8 November 2009 the 13th exhibition of sound and projection equipment Audio Show 2009 was held. The Audio Show exhibition is the third biggest event of this kind in Europe (exhibition area of 3000 sq. m., 10 thousand visitors). Like in the previous year, the event was held in the hotels Bristol, Kyriad and Jan III Sobieski in Warsaw. Thanks to the easy access to the location, all visitors could personally acquaint themselves with the features of the presented equipment and compare devices from various price ranges. Substantial part of the equipment exhibited had been brought to Poland specially for that event. Consequently, the Audio Show exhibition was a unique occasion to enjoy the sublime sound of rare and sophisticated equipment whose quality would please even the most demanding audiophile. The number of exhibitors and visitors was quite large. The latter had to wait in numerous, long queues to see presentations. That, however, considering the world unique novelties, did not discourage them.
One of the biggest attractions was the presentation of the top Consequence Ultimate Edition loudspeakers of Dynaudio. Those loudspeakers were shown together with the Accuphase complete reference system and the Transrotor Argos record player. This is one of the most expensive systems ever presented in Poland whose price amounts to PLN 1.5 mln.
Besides the loudspeakers of Dynaudio, visitors could also see and listen to the most expensive record player in the world, Transrotor Argos. With its completely detached platter, that player is a top achievement in the field of analogue record players. The price of the equipment exceeds PLN 600,000.
The company Lipiński Sound presented its newest L-707A Signature monitors. The premiere presentation was carried out by the owner of the company himself, Mr. Andrzej Lipiński, world-renowned sound engineer. The L-707A Signature loudspeakers of more than 2 metres high managed to charm listeners, but their supernatural size and loudness were not overwhelming whatsoever.
The visitors of Audio Show were the first in Poland to have the opportunity to see the presentation of HDTV 3D TV sets of JVC which had been originally presented during Cedia 2009. Similarly to 3D cinemas, these TV sets display a picture in 3 dimensions providing totally new sensations while movies are being watched. The visitors’ interest in them was more than the organizers had expected.
Another surprise was the glorious come-back of the legendary company Mark Levinson. During the exhibition the following items were also presented: No.53 reference monoblocks (PLN 200,000), No.326s reference pre-amplifier (PLN 35,000) and No.512 SACD player (PLN 60,000).
Moreover, there was a presentation of a system including the MC 2102 tube power amplifier, C 2200 tube preamplifier, MVP 851 CD/DVD player and Sonus Faber Cremona and Guarneri Homage loudspeakers. The whole set was equipped with VDH cables.
