KNX / EIB System

Konnex - KNX (commonly associated with the EIB system) is an association established in 1999 as a result of the sharing of mutual experiences of three European associations (BCI, KNX and EHS) carrying out research relative to the development of a building intelligent control system.

The result of the merger of the three independent associations is the first in the world open standard of management and control of equipment and buildings communicating in the KNX language (one communication protocol).

The KNX standard enables the integration of practically any systems within a building and uses equipment provided by more than 100 independent producers. Consequently, the user of a KNX intelligent building has a wide range of equipment and its design to choose from.

Thanks to its integration with alarm systems, the KNX standard contributes to the improvement of safety standards concerning property and tangible goods. The said standard provides such features as simulation of presence at home, detection of potential burglary, advanced access supervision and control, and integrates camera monitoring systems.

A feature of KNX which distinguishes the system from other similar ones is its reliability and high operational standards being the result of the experience and the research of KNX-licensed intelligent equipment producers.

Prospective producers of KNX-licensed equipment must meet numerous technical and legal requirements. This always guarantees the highest operational standard and no failures.

KNX is the only approved international standard of house and building control systems.

KNX has been approved as:

    * International Standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3).

    * European Standard (CENELEC EN 50090 and CEN EN 13321-1 I 13321-2).

    * Chinese Standard (GB/Z 20965).

    * American Standard (ANSI/ASHRAE 135).
