As far as modern commercial buildings are concerned, the application of a Building Management System therein is a must for building systems to be used in an optimal and stable manner.
An integrated system of the whole building and its central management point allow any section of a facility to be controlled intuitively. The control is allocated between the users with appropriate rights, thus it is possible to separate regular users or guests visiting the facility from operators, maintainers or technical administrators. Any user gets a set of features to use, subject to his/her rights.
The said features may be accessed through a touch screen panel, web browser (on a PC), mobile phone or other devices dedicated to the system (e.g. controlling a hotel room).
Besides the controlling features, i.e. management of lighting, energy, sound system, conference rooms or access control, the users of a given building may communicate with the administrator with the aid of those control platforms which they use to operate their own rooms, offices or entire floor.
Thanks to a touch screen panel the user may order meals from a restaurant, notify operators of any events, break-downs, or book a conference room for any date.
Measurable advantages for both the administrators of a building and its users result in the improvement of information transfer, and the building may be operated and used more comfortably. This translates to the more optimized functioning of the entire infrastructure of the building used daily by hundreds or thousands of people.
The building administration staff may exercise its administrative rights on the control panel (e.g. at the reception desk or in the management centre), which allows them to access users’ accounts and management features and notify of selected priority events or incidents within the facility that may be dealt with in the first place.
At the same time, image carriers and touch screen panels installed in an office building or a hotel may be used as advertisement carriers and devices displaying information for users of particular departments or the whole building.
The building management system automatically optimizes the functioning of all the systems
of a building, therefore the administrators’ control of the lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, conference rooms and other-purpose rooms will be reduced to a necessary minimum.
